Weekend Recap / Christmas Tree Hunt

This past weekend we headed up to the mountains of North Carolina to find out Christmas tree.  We ended up going to the Snowy Mountain Christmas Tree Farm. As you can tell from the picture below it started snowing once we got up there!!  It made for a fun tree hunt.

Did we want a mini tree??

Me and Belinda searching for just the right tree in the SNOW!

This is the ONE!!

The tree up and decorated in the house.  I know it is a little crooked but I think it adds character.  I also decorated the rest of the house as the pictures below show.  I still have more to do but this is a start.

Side tables.

TV Stand

The Outside

Snow Puppy Mat bought in VA.
Wreath for the door from Patrick's Mom.

That is all that has been done for now.  I am now off to study for finals.  I am so ready for this last week of school this year to be done!  I will be back later in the week pictures from my Thanksgiving trip to Florida.  Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Hello Monday!

This is going to be a real quick post.  I had a long weekend and I will blog about it tomorrow.  I just wanted to let you know that I have made a big step this weekend towards weight loss.  I have joined

again.  This time I am going to make it work.  I am going to lose the weight and keep it off.  I plan to do a weekly update post on my progress.  Hope everyone had a good weekend and I will be back tomorrow with pictures from the wedding I went to this weekend of a great friend!

What I bought!

For the house I purchased the following:
Some flowers for my bud vases from Ikea.
Some tea light candle holders from Crate & Barrel.
Mini bud vases from Crate & Barrel.
Little glasses for the bathroom from Crate & Barrel.
A brown throw blanket from Restoration Hardware.
For others I purchased the following:
A Kate Spade handbag for my sister. I know she will be very happy to own it.
I picked up this Vera Bradley bag at a great price for Courtney's Christmas present.
For me I purchased the following items:
Bangle bracelets from Nordstrom.
Four shirts from Talbot's for work and play. A great pair of boots from Nine West.
And this is my favorite purchase of the entire trip a Kate Spade handbag. It was just what I was looking for. A bag that is classic and will last for a long time.

Weekend Recap

This past weekend started off early. I left on Thursday for a girls shopping trip in Washington DC. Belinda and I drove to Woodbridge, VA to Cecila's house. We started our shopping trip off early on Friday morning. We were up by 7:00 a.m. and out the door by 9:30 a.m. and didn't return until 9:30 p.m. The picture below was taken from the car as we drove past the Potomac River on the way to Alexandria, VA. The first stop was the Crate & Barrel Outlet Store. I picked up a great rug for the front door for Christmas and some little bud vases and tea candle holders. We then headed to Pentagon City with a drive by the Pentagon. We then headed to the little town of Occoquan. It is some great little shops right along the river. We got up bright an early for our second day of shopping at the Leesburg Outlets. It was a very cold day but worth it for all the wonderful things we got. As you can see below I didn't leave much at the stores. My favorite purchase all day was my first Kate Spade Handbag. I will share pictures in a later post. We finished off our evening with dinner at Mikes American Grill. The food was very good and the company was even better as Ceclia's husband joined us! I had a great time and will share more pictures tomorrow of all the things I bought! Hope everyone had a great weekend.
