Cynthia Leeann is Four Months

How is my baby already four months old?!?  She turned four months on June 28th and we had her four month well baby visit today.  She is turning into a little character and her personality is shining through everyday.  It is so fun to watch her grow.

Stats:
At her four month well check up yesterday, she weighed in at 11 lbs 15 oz and she measured 24 inches long.  The doctor said she is a little small weight wise but she is getting tall!  Her hair is getting a little curly on the sides and thinning out in the back but does appear to be getting lighter in color.  I am still not sure about her eye color.  One day they look brown and then the next they look lighter.  I guess only time will tell what her true eye color will be.

Eating:
She is currently formula feed with a little oatmeal cereal mixed in to help with reflux issues.  We got the okay from the doctor to start trying to give her a little cereal at dinner time mixed with some formula.  She said after she takes to the night cereal feedings then we can work on adding a breakfast feeding then on to fruits and veggies!

          Sleep:
She is a great sleeper at night!  She normally falls asleep between 8:00 and 9:00 and sleeps until 6:00 am.  Then she wakes and has a bottle and normally goes back to sleep for a couple hours.  She is not much of a napper.  She takes a couple random naps about 45-60 minutes long but would much rather spend her day awake.  We are going to start the transition to her crib for night sleeping this month and are hoping it goes well.

Wears:
She is currently wearing sizes 3 months and 3-6 months depending on the brand.  She is currently wearing size 2 diapers and they are a little big but we had plenty of boxes on hand from our diaper shower and figured she would grow into them and then we don't have to buy anymore diapers right now!

Likes:
She really likes to chat with any ceiling fan, stroller rides, snuggles with mommy and daddy and her kick n play mat.

Dislikes:
She is not a fan of being hungry, diaper changes and red lights or stop signs when in the car.  She is not a fan when the vehicle stops moving.

Milestones:
- She is now consistently rolling over from back to front anytime you put her on her back.
- She went on her first trip to Florida and did pretty good in the car.  She handled most of the drive well but by the last couple hours she was done with the car seat.  We did try and stop often to give her time to be out of the seat and stretch.
-  During our trip to florida she made her first visit to Disney!  We only lasted a couple hours but it was fun to take her for the first time and now we can't wait to take her back!
-  Got to meet all her cousins and grandmother, aunts and an uncle.
- She went on her first boat ride this month and as long as the boat was moving she was happy and content to sleep away but when the boat stopped she was not happy.

First ride at Disney was Spaceship Earth!

10-15 minutes from home and she was done with the car.  We had to leave at 3:00 a.m. to get most of the driving done before she was really awake for the day.

Cynthia,  Mommy and daddy are really enjoying watching you grow and seeing your personality really start to come out.  We can't wait to see what you do this next month.

Life Update

Our lives have really changed since my last post.  We are now a family of 3.  We welcomed our baby girl Cynthia Leeann on February 28, 2016.  She was born a few weeks early but arrived perfect and we couldn't be happier.

We are also now in the process of selling our current home and building a new home.  We had planned to renovate our current house but realized that we would never be able to fully get what we wanted and therefore picked a plot of land and will be building our dream home.

I am going to work real hard to keep up this blog going forward.  I am going to do a couple post about my pregnancy and life with a new baby to be able to remember this time in our lives while it is still fresh.  I will also work to keep up with current things in our lives.

Weekending

Happy Monday!  I was not looking forward to waking up this morning because of the time change but it was not as bad as I thought it would be.

I did get some things accomplished on my list this weekend!  I had a great power yoga class to start the weekend off and then headed to help our friends paint their house.  I forgot how much work painting really is!  It has motivated me to get more done around our house.  We did end up going home and crashing though because all the physical labor wore us out.

I woke up Sunday morning feeling refreshed and got to work on my chores around the house.  I got all the laundry done and a couple meals planned for the week ahead.  I even managed to clean up my scrapbook room/office and worked on our anniversary cruise pictures.  I am almost done with that trip!  It was nice to clean out my space and get back to work.  I even opened up the blinds and Rorie came and watched out the window.

I love having this window above my desk.  The natural light is great to have when working inside.

We took advantage of the longer daylight and went for a walk after dinner :)  It was so nice to be back outside and enjoying the warmth and evening stroll.  We are hoping to get out at least twice a week for nightly walks.

Hope everyone had a great weekend and has a great week!  I am planning to get another post up about our anniversary cruise this week.

Five on Friday

I am ready for the weekend to begin!  I am linking up with A. Liz Adventures  for 5 on Friday.  Here are five things that I am looking forward to this weekend!

1.  Waking up nice and early for yoga class!  A great start to any weekend for me involves some power yoga.  I am very much looking forward to having a favorite teacher back this weekend!

2.  After yoga and a quick shower then we are off to help some great friends finish some renovations and get ready to sell their house!  I know they are very excited to finish this project and we are happy to be able to help.

3.  I am looking forward to the time change this weekend.  I hate losing an hour of sleep but gaining the hours of daylight in the evening will more than make up for it!

4.  I am hoping to get some meal planning done this weekend and work on getting our healthy eating back under control.  We have been eating out too much lately because cooking after work just seems like too much work.  I am thinking if we have a set plan then it won't feel so bad.

5.  I am planning to get my scrapbook room under control this weekend.  I am planning on making a scrapbook for a friend and really need to get working on it!  I hope to finish our anniversary cruise too!

Hope everyone has a good and productive weekend!  I am going to really work on a blog schedule this weekend and work on getting back here on a regular basis even if that is just a couple times a week.  That will be way better than my current track record :)

Anniversary Trip Part 2 - Ship Exploration

After dropping off our carryon luggage we went off to explore all the different things about the ship because we had a few hours before our safety drill.  Here are some pictures of places on the ship.
The first group is the Sunshine atrium as seen from above.  In this area you have a bar, guest services and the shore excursion desk.  It was very pretty and seemed like a great place to stop and have a drink.  They even had access to the outside that allowed you to walk outside and feel the ocean breeze.

We continued to walk around and explore the levels around the atrium.  We found the Liquid Lounge which is where they have the Broadway style shows and then late in the evening it would turn into a nightclub.  They also broadcast the morning show with the cruise directors from this location.

We ate at the steakhouse for our anniversary.  I will give you a full review of that!

You used this machine to purchase wine by the glass if the bartender was not working.  Seemed like a pretty cool idea but we never got around to trying it out.

The Library bar looked like a pretty cool place to hang out and read a book, play cards, board games and enjoy a glass of wine.  We never made it to the Library bar.  Because we hung out more at the Alchemy Bar and Red Frog Pub.

The Alchemy Bar was pretty awesome.  The bartenders wore lab coats and really played the part of being a pharmacists very well.  You can tell that they really enjoyed the job.  We enjoyed quite a few drinks at this bar.  You will see them featured in some later posts.  Another favorite for me on this ship was the Java Blue CafĂ© and the Shake Spot.  I didn't ever get any shakes but I had my fair share of coffee drinks aboard the ship :)  They were nice to keep me going late into the evening or start a relaxing day of vacation.

After a little more ship exploration we went back to our cabin to wait for muster drill followed by setting sail.

We watched the Carnival Liberty set sail and then it was our turn :)  My next post will cover our first two days at sea and the celebration of two years of marriage!
