Weekend Recap

This weekend we headed up to Snowy Mountain Christmas Tree Farm to choose and cut our Christmas tree.  It is such a pretty place and there was even some snow on the ground.

Can you see Patrick?

 My Future Father-in-Law

We then headed to Boone for some food at The Daniel Boone Inn. It is a family style buffet and very yummy. It was crazy busy with lots of people having come up to get trees and eat. By the time we left we were all full to popping!

We left full and headed to Blowing Rock for a little walking around and shopping. Then it was time to hit the road home.

I also, worked on a little project I found on Pinterest. They are ribbon trees. They were pretty time consuming but I think they turned out pretty cute!

I have put all three on the table but when I took the picture I only had two on the table.  I am going to add some greenery and then the table will be all done.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

I'm Back and Engaged!!!

I have been gone a long time but I am going to make it a point to start blogging again!

First up I'm ENGAGED!!!

My ring and I love it!

Now for how he asked. He planned a weekend trip to the Georgia Aquarium with a behind the scenes tour.  It was a private tour and we got to go above all the exhibits and see how things run.  We reached the top of second largest aquarium in the world and our guide was explaining all the items we were seeing.  It was so hot at the top of this exhibit because they have a lot of lamps that pretend to be the sun for all the coral growing in the aquarium.  It was cold outside and so we had sweatshirts on and were sweating.  So the guide starts pointing out clam shells to me and asking if I have ever seen the rings on one up close.  I told her I had not.  She then pointed me to a table to check them out up close.  I was looking at one of the small clam shells and Patrick kept telling me to open the big one.  I thought I had broke the one I was looking at because it had come apart.  I got it back to together and looked over because Patrick had opened the big shell and this is what I saw!
I then look back and Patrick and he is down on one knee!

I am so happy we have pictures of this moment!  We then finished our tour and made it to the top of the whale shark tank and got to see them being fed.  Overall it was an awesome time at the Georgia Aquarium.

I will be back tomorrow with some other stuff that has been going on as well as wedding details!

Loss

This is a hard post to write.  My baby kitty Katie who has been with me for over 18 years passed away this weekend.
Katie has been my world for so long it is very hard to know that she is gone.  She will never be forgotten.  I can't tell you how much it has meant to me to have her as a part of my life.  I am so blessed that I got to be a part of her life.  She helped me in ways she will never know.  Below are a few of my favorite pictures of my little baby Katie.

What a pretty face.  This is the mom can't I stay outside face :)

Katie laying on the couch with her mommie and baby sister Rorie.  I will miss having my baby lay beside me always.  She never asked she just did it.

 Eating a little grass.
I will miss my Katie very much.   Seeing this on the way home made me think about The Rainbow Bridge Poem.

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.
For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.
No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.
They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.
For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.
The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.

This is very helpful to know that one day I will see her again and too know that she is running and playing and very happy with her sister Bebe.  I will see again one day Katie.

Love always.

What I am Scrappin Wednesday

This is going to be a weekly post where I show things I am working on in my scrapbooks.  I am hoping by creating this weekly feature it will keep me scrapping and I can finish more projects.

So, in this post I am going to show you pictures from a page I am working on in my Disney Album. These pictures were taken in Hollywood Studios between The Rocking Roller-coaster and The Tower of Terror.  Me and my friends Terra and Doris, joked we would get in some trouble with the mouse cops when on vacation, so we had to take some pictures with them.

 The almost finished page.

The space in the book where it will end up.

My scrapping area with the work in progress.

My awesome Cricut hard at work!  I love this thing :-)
My little helper.  Rorie always has to be wherever I am.
The finished product.  Now on to more pages!  I have a ways to go

Not sure we will get to all things on the list but we are going to try and do as much as we can.  The other thing we will be doing a lot of is drinking Slurpees!!  I sure miss having those back home.  It is nice to know we can have them in Chicago :)  I can't wait to see my sister!

Hello Monday!

Hope everyone had a good weekend.  Mine was pretty good.  A little busier than I wanted but it was nice.  We headed to the lake Friday evening and went to dinner with Patrick's parents.  We then got up early Saturday morning to go to the Davidson Farmers Market.  Below are some pictures of walking around Davidson and the restaurant Toast where we had brunch.

Downtown Davidson

Me with some purchases including a bunch of sunflowers that we got for $5!!!  They are very pretty.  In my red bag I have squash, peaches, tomatoes, cucumbers and onions.  I also stopped in a little shop and bought a very cute bird feeder for Belinda and a wrist purse.

This is where we had brunch.  It was very yummy.  All the food was very fresh.  I had french toast stuffed with blueberries and hash browns.  The hash browns were AWESOME!!

After we left Davidson we headed back to the lake and painted a table on the porch.  The table was found in the trash and we were turning it into something pretty.  Here are some pictures of us painting the legs and a finished picture.

It looks so good on the porch.

We finished the weekend with a movie on Sunday for Father's Day with Patrick's dad and family.
I hope everyone had a great weekend and here is to a great week!
